Changing the Advanced Terminal Server listening port

Changing the Advanced Terminal Server listening port

I am having trouble changing the Advanced Terminal Server listening port. It seems that with Win2k server, port 3389 is really the only option. I was able to change WinNT 4.0 Terminal Server listening ports, but not Win2k Terminal Server. Any suggestions?

You can change the listening port by editing the registry on the terminal server. To do so, go to HKLMSystemCurrentControlSetControlTerminalServerWinStationsRDP-TcpPortNumber and edit the value to an unused port number. Make sure that you specify that the value is decimal. Clients connecting to a terminal server with an edited Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) port will need to specify the port they're connecting to.
